Community Mobilization

1. School Chalo Campaign:

  • “School Chalo Abhiyan” is launched by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh for 100 percent enrollment of children in the schools. The campaign’s launch programe is broadcasted live through Doordarshan, youtube, social media and other platform to mobilize and aware community, parents and mass. The district Magistrate and public representatives launch the "School Chalo Abhiyan" program at the district level for public awareness.
  • School Chalo Abhiyan program is conducted in all districts, development blocks, and schools for 1 month. Rallies, Prabhat Pheri, quiz, essays, speeches competitions, meetings with influential persons, community and other stakeholders are organized for engaging the parents. Through School Chalo Abhiyan, parents/guardians and the community are made aware and motivated for 100% enrollment of students.

2. Parent-Teacher Meeting :

  • Quarterly parent-teacher meeting is organized in all basic’s schools of the state. During parents teachers meeting, parents are informed about the different programs run by the Department of Basic Education/Samagra Shiksha like; Nipun Bharat MIsison, Operation Kayakalp, Sharda and Samarth Program, DBT, and School Management Committee. Parents are engaged with various programs organized at school level.

3. Orientation of SMCs/PRI members at the block level :

  • one-day orientation program for Gram Pradhan/ School Management Committee members / is organized at the block level to create awareness of the programs/schemes run by the Samagra Shiksha/Basic Education Department and seek their support in school development. Two participants from all the Basic’s schools of the state are participate in the even.

4.Constitution of School Management Committee :

  • Under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009 and Uttar Pradesh Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Rules-2011 notification, the School Management Committee is formed in all schools except non-aided schools of the state. The tenure of the Management Committee is 02 years from the date of formation. There are a total of 15 members in the committee, of which 11 members are mother/father/parents of the studying children in the school and 04 nominated members. It is mandatory to have 50 percent women in the committee. The main role and responsibility of the Management Committee is to manage the school and monitor the programs/schemes run at the school level by the Department of Basic Education / Samagra Shiksha and to make better efforts have to be made for implementation.

5.Training of School Management Committees :

  • Capacity building is done in all schools of Department of Basic Education of the state with the aim of making the members of the management committee aware of their work and responsibilities. The committee members are trained on the Janpahal Training Module developed by Samagra Shiksha, UP. The training is conducted through cascade mode and all SMC members are trained, so that the committee members can monitor programs/schemes and make sure as well as provide the support school for the quality of education, enrollment of children, identification and enrollment of out-of-school children, and increase the attendance and retention of children.

6. Meeting of influential persons/ Teachers/ SMC members :

  • Meetings of influential people, SMC members, Headmasters/Teachers, etc. are organized, through which the community is made aware and motivated to cooperate in the programs of the Department of Basic Education/Samagra Shiksha. Efforts are made in the meeting to increase the enrolment, attendance, and retention of children.
